The skin in the eye area is extremely thin and delicate. It stretches easily and as a result, fats and fluids accumulate in that area. When the eye area is puffy for long periods of time it will lack nutrition that is normally supplied by the blood. Therefore it is essential that the area be protected and maintained daily.

Slackness of the skin around the eyes is a result of the normal aging process. The cause is decreased muscle tone and weakening of the ligaments that normally support the area below the eye.
